Spring Thread Lift

This treatment uses biocompatible silicone threads that are permanently implanted under the skin to reposition tissue and support collagen production, which can help improve skin firmness and definition over time.

Key Benefits:

• Minimally invasive – No large incisions or general anaesthesia required.
• Immediate lifting effect – Some patients may notice an improvement following treatment.
• Stimulates collagen production – Supports gradual skin rejuvenation over time.
• Short recovery time – Most patients are able to resume normal activities within a few days.
• Long-lasting support – The threads are permanent, although the degree and duration of visible lifting results can vary between individuals.

Spring Thread® Lift for Sagging Skin

At Cosmetics of The Royal Liver Building, we offer the Spring Thread® Lift, a minimally invasive procedure designed to support lifting and tightening of facial tissue without traditional surgery.

Spring Thread® Lift

The Spring Thread® Lift uses biocompatible silicone threads that are permanently placed under the skin to reposition tissue and support facial structure. Unlike some temporary thread systems that gradually dissolve over time, Spring Thread® is designed to provide long-term structural support.

This procedure may help improve the appearance of facial sagging and skin laxity, with results that vary between individuals.

WHO IS SUITABLE FOR A SPRING THREAD LIFT?

This procedure is suitable for individuals who:

  • Are experiencing mild to moderate skin laxity in the face, jawline, or neck.
  • Prefer a non-surgical alternative to a traditional facelift.
  • Have realistic expectations about the results.
  • Are in good general health and do not have contraindications such as severe skin conditions, active infections, or blood clotting disorders.

What Are the Benefits of a Spring Thread Lift?

Spring Thread® may provide a lifting effect by repositioning sagging skin and supporting facial contours, while also stimulating collagen production to improve skin quality over time.

What Makes the Spring Thread Lift Unique?

Spring Thread® is designed with elasticity intended to mimic natural skin movement. It can stretch and retract, allowing facial expression movement while supporting a lifted appearance.

At Cosmetics of The Royal Liver Building, these procedures are performed by Dr Usman Qureshi, who is experienced in facial rejuvenation and minimally invasive aesthetic treatments.

How Does Face Lift with Spring Threads® work?

Spring Thread® works by repositioning soft tissue and lifting facial skin in an upward direction. The procedure is designed to address areas of laxity and support improved facial definition.
Initial effects may be visible immediately, with further improvements developing over time, typically over several months.

The threads are designed to support collagen production following insertion, which may contribute to gradual skin tightening and rejuvenation. The procedure works by supporting existing facial structures rather than replacing them.

What Are the Benefits of a Spring Thread Lift?

Spring Thread® offers a substantial lift, repositioning sagging skin to restore youthful facial contours while also rejuvenating the skin by stimulating new collagen production.

What Makes the Spring Thread Lift Unique?

Spring Thread® stands out among thread treatments because of its elasticity, which mimics natural skin. It can stretch and retract, allowing it to move with facial expressions, ensuring a very natural-looking effect without compromising the lift. At Cosmetics of The Royal Liver Building, these procedures are expertly performed by our highly skilled and renowned facelift specialist, Dr. Usman Qureshi, guaranteeing the best possible results.

How Does Face Lift with Spring Threads® work?

Spring Thread® works by replacing weakened connective tissue and lifting facial skin diagonally upwards and back. This technique addresses loose, sagging skin, restoring a more youthful facial appearance. The immediate effects continue to improve over time, enhancing for up to a year. The threads stimulate collagen production for months after insertion, rejuvenating and firming the skin. They integrate seamlessly with surrounding tissues, ensuring long-term results by replacing sagging ligaments. This rejuvenation revitalizes tired and sad-looking faces, achieving a more youthful facial definition while maintaining your natural appearance.

FAQ’s for Spring Thread Lift

During the Spring Thread® treatment, local anaesthesia is administered to numb the skin and help minimise discomfort. The Spring Thread® is inserted under the skin using a soft needle. Its small, round cogs engage with the tissue to support lifting of the skin.

Afterwards, the skin is gently massaged into the desired position, and the cogs are secured underneath to help hold the tissue in place. The entire treatment typically lasts about one hour, and may take longer if the neck is also treated.

PDO threads are absorbable and typically dissolve within 3–4 months, providing temporary tissue support. In contrast, Spring Thread® uses permanent, flexible threads designed to move naturally with facial expressions. Both treatments can stimulate collagen production following insertion.

PDO thread results typically last 3–12 months, whereas Spring Thread® results may last for up to around 5 years, depending on individual factors.

Yes, the Spring Thread® treatment can be repeated in the future. Some patients opt for maintenance treatments every 2–4 years to help maintain the effects.

There is generally no need to remove the threads. If you decide to undergo a facelift at a later date, this may still be possible, subject to an assessment by your surgeon.

The procedure is performed under local anaesthesia to help minimise discomfort during treatment.

EXPECTED SIDE EFFECTS & RISKS

While a Spring Thread Lift is considered a minimally invasive procedure, like all cosmetic treatments it carries potential risks and side effects.

Common Side Effects (usually resolve within days to weeks):

◆ Mild swelling and bruising at the treatment site.
◆ Temporary tenderness, soreness, or discomfort.
◆ A feeling of tightness or pulling, which settles as the threads integrate.
◆ Slight asymmetry, which usually improves as swelling subsides.

Less Common Risks:

◆ Thread visibility or palpability – in some cases, threads may be felt under the skin.
◆ Mild puckering or dimpling – this may improve as the skin settles.
◆ Localised infection – a recognised risk of any invasive procedure.
◆ Minor nerve irritation or sensitivity changes – typically temporary.

Rare Risks (very uncommon but may require medical attention):

◆ Thread migration or extrusion – a thread may move or become visible and may require adjustment.
◆ Prolonged swelling or bruising – may require further assessment if persistent.
◆ Allergic reaction – extremely rare but possible in sensitive individuals.

The cost of the procedure is £3500 for the face and £2500 for the neck. There is a reduced price for the face and neck combined at £5500.

The silicone Spring Threads® are designed to remain in place long-term and are made from biocompatible materials. Many patients are able to live with them beneath the skin without noticing them in daily life.

In some cases where removal is required, this can be performed by an experienced practitioner.

Spring Thread® is non-absorbable and designed to remain in place long-term, providing structural support beneath the skin.

The effects of a Spring Thread® lift typically last up to around 5 years, depending on individual factors and the natural ageing process. While this technique can provide a temporary improvement in facial support, it does not stop the ageing process.

Over time, options may include:
• Maintaining the results as they are.
• Considering a repeat Spring Thread® lift.
• Exploring alternative rejuvenation treatments, surgical or non-surgical.

There are some medical contraindications, including certain autoimmune conditions, which may increase risk for some individuals.

All patients will have an initial consultation with a member of the team to assess suitability and provide advice about the treatment, followed by a consultation with the treating doctor if you wish to proceed.

The lifting effect may be visible immediately, with results continuing to develop over 4–6 weeks as swelling settles and collagen production increases.

A Spring Thread Lift is one of several options for facial rejuvenation. Alternative treatments may include:

SofWave – A non-invasive ultrasound-based treatment designed to stimulate collagen production and support skin tightening, which may help improve the appearance of skin laxity without the use of threads.

EndoDefine – A minimally invasive, energy-based skin tightening procedure that uses controlled heat to support collagen production and may help improve facial definition and skin laxity.

Dr Qureshi will discuss these options with you during consultation if you are unsure which treatment may be most suitable for your individual needs.

AFTERCARE INSTRUCTIONS

Following your Spring Thread Lift, it is important to follow these aftercare guidelines:

Do’s:

Apply cold compresses for the first 24 hours to reduce swelling.
Sleep on your back with your head elevated for at least a week.
Take mild pain relief if needed (e.g. paracetamol – avoid ibuprofen/aspirin unless prescribed).
Stick to soft foods for the first few days to minimise facial movement.
Keep the treatment area clean to reduce the risk of infection.

Don’ts:

Avoid touching or rubbing your face for at least 2 weeks.
Refrain from strenuous exercise, saunas, and steam rooms for 2 weeks.
Avoid excessive facial movements (e.g. chewing gum, wide yawning).

Consultations are strictly available to individuals aged 25 and over. By booking, you confirm you meet this age requirement. Proof of age may be requested. We reserve the right to refuse consultation or treatment if this condition is not met.
